When Nazi Germany created the V-2 missile while fighting against Allied forces, they probably didn’t think the technology would eventually end up catapulting the United States into the space age. It was on May 10, 1946, after salvaging and reassembling the missile’s parts, the U.S. successfully launched their first V-2 rocket.
